IWR6843ISK: DATA Port is not connected via mmWave Visualizer and VitalSign Qt Gui Visualizer

Part Number: IWR6843ISK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH

Hi TI Champs

We're unable to connect DATA COM Port as below. My customer said it's only connected by MMICBOOST + ISK Sensor combination only.

I programmed Viatalsign binary into ISK using Uniflash. then trying to run Sensor using mmWave Visualizer.

Seerial PORT connection is not allowed from DATA Port.

Please check this issue. I tested this problem with both USB2.0 and USB3.0 Ports as well.

ps. I saw VitalSign Lab works with MMICBOOST+ISK combination.

I would like to know why ISK standalone mode does not work with Visualizer. There's an port openning error when running VitalSign Gui as it uses AUTO COM PORT Detection even uncheced the function.

Regards

Jack

  • Hi

I just tested ISK VitalSign with People Tracking lab with Visualizer written by Python.

It works fine as below. The COM PORT AUTO detection is OK.

The problem seems be caused by Qt Serial library used in gui based on Qt.

If the problems comes from Qt lib, Do you have any idea to solve the problem? Should I ask customer to build gui source code with latest Qt SDK release?

Please check this DATA COM PORT open issue when used qt gui visualizer.

    Regards,

    Jack

  • Hello Jack,

The vital signs demo is not made to work with the online demo visualizer, it is just made to work with with visualizer written in Python.

Is the tracking portion of the visualizer working (i.e. are you seeing the point cloud and tracks appear in the gray portion of the visualizer)?

    Thanks,

    Angie

  • Hi Angie, I saw some of gray point. But it doesn't work perfect. Let me check once again since I am out of office today, BR Jack

  • Hi Jack,

Please try one more time and see if the error happens again. If so, please check the COM port connection.

    Thank you,

    Angie
