IWR6843: Version control to collaborate on custom source code

Part Number: IWR6843

Dear support team,

our team is planning on implementing adjustments to different demos that you provided to the IWR6843 sensor family.

We are now facing the issue that not all files are updated correctly in our repository once we commit new changes. This might be due to the files that are imported in CCS being stored in different directories.

For example, we created a repository where we uploaded the original dss and mss folder of the area scanner demo from the mmwave industrial toolbox. After making changes to some files that are imported in CCS, we have observed that not all the changes are present upon pulling the latest version on another system.

Do you have any approach/ suggestion on how we can fix this problem and be able to edit and update any file that is imported in CCS locally as well in our repository?

We'd be very thankful for any suggestions.

Kind Regards

Rami Chaari

  • Hi Rami,

Thank you for evaluating our products!

Which demo our you working with? Strictly area scanner or are there other labs you are interested in?

I would recommend making sure the .projectspec file you are building from is set to "link" and not "copy" when you are in development. This is controlled by the <!-- Project files --> section of the .projectspec file. I would also double check the paths being used by your .projectspec file to ensure they are from your repository. The files being used by CCS need to be pulling from and be linked to your repository.

    Thank you,

    Angie

  • Hi Angie,

thank you for your insights. We're also interested in making adjustments to the out of box and the long range demo.

I'll take a look at the .projectspec file and update once I managed to make any progress.

    Thank you and kind regards,

    Rami

  • Sounds great! Feel free to ask related questions here and new questions in a new thread.
