PGA300EVM-034: PGA300EVM GUI User Manual

Part Number: PGA300EVM-034
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PGA300

Hi, I am currently working on a design based upon the PGA300 using the PGA300EVM development board.

I have downloaded the PGA300EVM GUI User Manual.

1. This manual is stamped "Preliminary". Please advice if a finalized issue is available, or alternatively which precautions should be take using the preliminary version.

2. For OWI configuration the following controls are requested: Rloop and "Additional voltage". The definition of these controls are unclear for me. Please explain/define these controls.

Thank you.

  • Hi Dag,

There is no more up to date version of the GUI user guide.  The information in it is accurate.

Rloop compensates for resistance in the current loop by adding a variable voltage to the OWI signals based on the current in the loop. This keeps the OWI signals within the proper range for communication.  Additional voltage adds a fixed voltage to the OWI signals to offset a fixed voltage drop due to something like a diode on the voltage line.

    Regards,

    Scott
