TMAG5170: how to test Tpd_sodis

Part Number: TMAG5170

Hi team,

customer want to test Tpd_sodis, and they want to learn what voltage level of SDO should be marked as SDO transition to tristate. In customer application, Vcc=3.3V.

thanks!

Rayna

  • Rayna,

Thank you for reaching out with this question.  With SDO entering tri-state, the voltage on this pin might depend on the MCU or any other component connected to this node.  If nothing is driving this node, then the exact state is not entirely predictable.  To run this test, I would recommend placing a very weak pull up or pull down resistor near the device on SDO.  Then, I would attempt to read back a register whose LSB value is opposite.  (i.e. if you use a pull-up resistor, then read back a register whose default value is 0x00).  Then it would be possible to predictably observe where the device is actively driving the state of SDO and when it is released and pulled to a known value.

    Thanks,

    Scott
