TMAG5170: When CRC error was detected, do customer need reset the chip?

Part Number: TMAG5170

Hi team,

When SPI communication CRC error was detected, do customer need reset the chip? besides power up again, any other way to reset the chip?

Thanks!

  • Hello Rayna,

Thanks for posting to the sensing forum! Reset of the device is not required if a CRC error is detected. If CRC is incorrect, the device will simply ignore any SDI commands received. In case of a CRC fault it will be reported on the SYS_STATUS register, the fault flag (CRC_STAT bit) is cleared upon reading the register. After that, the user can simply initiate another read on the device. If the user would like to reset the device they can put the device into deep-sleep mode, which clears the user configuration and any previous results.

    Best,

    Isaac
