Good Day!

I came to know about Phantom Braking in few autonomous vehicles and I was reading an article related to that, Please find the attached summary:

4D imaging radar, with its ultra-high resolution and advanced post-processing, reduces false alarms and detects nearly no phantom objects. It is one of the only radars on the market today that can detect objects accurately with almost no instances of false alarms, eliminating the issue of phantom braking and enhancing safety for the driver and others on the road.

Additionally, imaging radar can create a free space map or a view of the environment around the vehicle so the car can distinguish between what is drivable and non-drivable in the landscape surrounding it.

Can you please let me know, if AWR1843 BOOST EVM is an MMWAVE IMAGING RADAR? If not, Can you please let me know the imaging radar part number from TI

Hi Guru,

So the AWR1843 cannot be used for the imaging radar.
Only the AWR1243 and AWR2243 2 or 4 chip cascade set can be used for imaging radar.

Thanks for the response.

I am getting false positives (noise), when deploying the AWR1843 in front of the Car.

Can I deploy a single AWR1243 or AWR2243 in front of a vehicle for an Imaging RADAR purpose? Or Only Cascading Multiple RADARS can be imaging RADAR? Since my purpose is only for Obstacle Detection without NOISE

Can you please let me know, if there would be Zero Noise in the AWR1243 OR AWR2243?

Hi Guru,

Could you explain false positives? Are you getting this even when there is no object in front of the radar?
Are you performing object classification, or object detection and also have you evaluated our Ti Rex MRR Lab using the boards.
