Hello,

I have tried the OOB demo. In standalone condition the OOB demo is working. But when it is connected to DCA1000 with hardware configuration , I am not able to start and stop the data capture through the push buttons in DCA1000 boards. Moreover the LED7 is glowing after some time (LVDS_PATH_ERR).

I am expecting that when the data capture push button is pressed, the LED1 should toggle and should see the UDP data in Wireshark.

Following are the switch settings

DCA1000 switches

mmwaveICBOOST switches

AWR6843AOP switches

SOP in mmwaveICBOOST

Please help me to debug why the DCA1000 is not sending data.

I am trying to do a setup without mmwave studio but at the same time DCA1000 to be configured to send the LVDS data to outside through the ethernet.

Please help me with document / information on how to enable the AWR6843AOP for the LVDS streaming (I tried with OOB demo ) , mmwaveICboost switch settings and to configure the DCA1000 for data capture without mmwave Studio (I tried the hardware configuration )

Hi Resmi,

The mmWave studio provides a CLI option. The source code for the CLI can be found at ti\mmwave_studio_02_01_01_00\mmWaveStudio\ReferenceCode\DCA1000\SourceCode. This provides the details of developing a custom application OR CLI based application. Please let me know if this helps.

I already tried that one CLI option but on DCA1000 a red light on LVDS_PATH_ERR. and no data is capture no bin file is created.

Hi,

Can you please share the configuration file? Does the configuration file have the option to enable LVDS?

Also you can refer to the attached zip file for details of automation of the capture using CLI tools and MATLAB.

Hi,

Yes my configuration file is shown below. and also I little bit confuse about the Switch settings on both devices. Because for DCA1000 the sw setting changed but without DCA1000 it's changes so which pattern or sw setting we follow for Functional, Standalone or DCA1000 mode.

Hi Fahad,

Did you get a chance to look at the .zip file shared earlier and try the example there? More details are available as part of the examples in https://dev.ti.com/tirex/explore/node?node=AAMoyhPLd8kamPeX2LV46Q__VLyFKFf__LATEST. The switch setting must be as per the guide here.

Please try the binaries and example in the zip file and let me know your findings.

Thanks for the matlab script. This helps to run the CLI application and radar data capture using a single m script.

Here also we are getting the raw data only after the .bin is generated , it is again an offline data. Could you provide more info on how and where the application is storing data (each UDP packets) temporarily while data capture before post processing. Any buffer/ shared memory is used for this? Please provide more details on this.

I am trying to get the UDP packets at every frame to matlab for the continuous processing

Could you provide some inputs on this?

Hi Resmi,

The data is written to internal buffers before it is sent as UDP. Currently the data capture doesn't support live streaming of the data.

We do have MTLAB scripts for post processing the captured data from DCA1000 in offline mode.

The example that was sent before has a way to capture the data from DCA1000 using MATLAB and CLI tools. Is there something else that you are looking for?

All the capture and processing as mentioned earlier are based on offline data. There are no specific tools for real time data capture and processing.

1. I tried the m script that you attached in this thread, but the port is bonded by CLI application and I was not able to read the port. Could you help me with m script only to configure the DCA1000 , start and stop the data capture. Because during recording is happening the port is not available by other application. I wanted to bypass that process.

2. I got to know that we can run the Lua script through matlab, Could you help me with Lua script only to configure DCA1000, start and stop the data capture, (I can configure the radar through mmwave visualizer or matlab ) , so that only matlab can read the port and do the processing.

Do you mean the MATALB will hold the COM port? This is only for sending the configuration correct? After this the same COM can be used in MATLAB for any data capture over COM port. Am i missing something here?

Hello

Matlab is not holding any port, but when we are configuring the radar and DCA1000 using DCA1000CLI application (evenif it is through matlab) , during record process, the CLI tool is holding the port and matlab is not able to get data. It is mentioned in page no : 13 in 'TI_DCA1000EVM_CLI_Software_DeveloperGuide.pdf'

Could you provide some solution for this? Either to avoid this binding of port or LUA script without the port bind.
