IWR6843ISK: What does the FTDI connectively status mean in the mmwave studio?

Hi,

We are using the mmwave_studio_02_01_01_00 to control the IWR 6843ISK radar and MMWAVEICBOOST board + DCA10000 board. We found that in the connection tab of mmwave studio, the Connectivity Status for FTDI keeps showing 'connected' (please attached first image ) even all the board are not connected to the pc and the mmwave studio.

We are wondering what does the FDTI do in the case? Is it connected to the FDTI USB port in the MMWAVEICBOOST board?

Hello Xiangyu,

The setup for mmWaveStudio + MMWAVEICBOOST only uses the bottom XDS110 USB port and is for UART. FTDI supports other communication protocols which is used for different tests and use cases. The FTDI connection status should be ignored for your use case.
