HDC2080: 100%RH with humidity offset

Dear Team,

Could you tell me about "Humidity Offset Adjustment"?

For example, set the "Humidity Offset Adjustment" to -5.0%RH.

Q1. Will the HDC2080 output 95.0%RH when the true humidity is 100%RH?
Q2. Do you have a condition for the HDC2080 output to over 95%RH?
Q3. What is the output when the true humidity is 0%RH?

Hi Kosuke,

Thank you for posting to the Sensing forum!

The offset register is typically used to add or subtract temperature and humidity error that has been caused due to aging or contamination. If you choose to subtract -5%RH from the device when the device has not been damaged, the device will always read -5%RH below the actual humidity.

Prolonged operation outside the recommended temperature operating conditions and/or at >80%RH with temperature in the higher recommended operating range can result in a shift of sensor reading, with slow recovery time. If you force the humidity to 0%RH, the device will read 0% as well.

Could you tell me one more thing?

Set the "Humidity Offset Adjustment" to -5.0%RH,
if the true humidity is 4%RH, will the output of the device be 0%RH?

Hi Kosuke-san,

The lowest humidity reading that the device can calculate is 0%RH. So if there is a -5%RH offset and the humidity is 4%, then the device will measure 0%RH.

Will the output range be narrowed by the offset?

(example)

For offset -5%, Lower limit 0% Upper limit 95%

For offset +5%, Lower limit 5%, upper limit 100%

The output range will be narrowed if the offset is applied.
