    Hi Johnny,

    AMC6821 will operate without a remote junction, but many features will not be available. The IN pins can be left floating. Page 16, under the heading Remote Temperature Sensor Failure Detection describes that the AMC6821 will report -128C as the remote temperature. The RTF bit will also be set, and the SMBALERT will be triggered on every conversion. I would recommend connecting a small MMBT3904 or similar near the AMC6821 instead.
