If you are looking to do this in the mmWaveSudio tool itself these can be modified in the SensorConfig tab

If you are using mmWaveStudio this can be modified in the SensorConfig tab, see picture below.

If you are using a script, you can click the settings you would like to modify once, hit set and go to the output window to see what the corresponding command is.

Hi,

Sorry to ask you again. But I don't see any name option for the below configuration in the mmWaveStudio:

1. How to set up an IF sampling rate of 2MHz?

2. How to set up Chirp duration?

3. How to setup starting frequency(Fc), Slow Time Axis sampling(Fs), Fast time axis sampling(Fs_fast)

The vital signs lab demo uses the above parameter values. 

I would appreciate it if you could write explicitly.

Hi Arjun,

This guide has information on how various chirp parameters are set and are related to other parameters. 

1. IF sampling rate is .9 * the adc sampling frequency, referred to as sampling rate in the screenshot.

2. Chirp time is the number of samples / sampling rate

3. The starting frequency can be directly modified in the screenshot. Please tell me where you saw the slow time axis sampling and fast time axis sampling mentioned in our documentation.

Thanks for the response and sharing guide.

I went through the guide earlier. I was confused between the sampling rate and IF bandwidth, and ADC sampling.

For question number 3: It is mentioned in the vital sign lab (version 1.4) slides under "Chirp Parameters." Please see the image below and page 8 of the attached slides>Vital_Signs_xwr1443_Developers_Guide.pdf.

Please answer how to set up the chirp parameters in the above image.

Thank you for sharing the slide this came from. This is an older vital signs lab that is not as well supported as our 68xx versions. I am going to dig into these variables and figure out how to modify them and update you here as soon as I know.

Hi Arjun,

Fast Time Axis Sampling Rate refers to the ADC sampling rate (also called IF sampling rate) i.e. The sampling rate at which the ADC samples within a chirp are acquired.

Slow Time-Axis Sampling rate is the sampling rate at which the vital signs waveform is sampled. In this particular demo, we use 1 chirp per frame to extract one time sample of the vital signs waveform. Hence the sampling rate of the vital signs waveform is equivalent to the frame rate of the configuration (i.e. 20 fps (Hz))

These all can be modified if needed through the config file (if using the real-time demo)  or through the mm-wave studio if capturing raw data through the DCA1000.

If using the real-time demo , one thing to keep in mind when changing the frame-rate is that the the default filter parameters for bandpass filtering the breathing and heart-rate waveforms are based on 20 Hz sampling rate. If the frame-rate is changed, the filtering co-efficient will need to be modified.
