AWR1843: Different application in AWR1843 and AWR2944 datasheet

Hi,

Why the applications mentioned in second page of AWR1843 and AWR2944 datasheets, are different? Because these chips have same RF specifications such as output power and ... .

for example why the"Automatic Emergency Braking" and "Adaptive Cruise Control" are mentioned in AWR2944 but not for AWR1843?

Hello Ali,

This is possible with the AWR1843 as well. It depends on the range, velocity and other parameters that you want to measure using the radar.
Based on your use case you will have to decide which might be the better suited chipset for you.
You can also refer the Tirex to see how these various boards have been used for real world applications the link for the same is Automotive Toolbox.

So can i say all of different possible automotive application is not mentioned in datasheet necessarily?

Hello Ali,

Yes, the datasheet need not necessarily contain all the applications use case of board. The application spectrum is very huge, it only mentions the few that might have been relevant during the point of datasheet creation.

And another question, in AWR1843 datasheet, in the title, mentioned "AWR1843 Single-Chip 77- to 79-GHz FMCW Radar Sensor". But in features mentioned "76- to 81-GHz coverage with 4 GHz available bandwidth". Which one is the bandwidth?

The bandwidth for the AWR1843 is the 76-81 Ghz itself.
