HDC2080: Humidity Variation among multiple devices

I have about 5 PCBs that all have the HDC2080 Temperature and Humidity Sensor.

4 of the PCB at the same location( office desk), is showing about 40% humidity.

But 1 of the PCB is showing about 20% humdity.

Temperture seems be very similar.

Is there a difference why there is this variation in Humdity?

Thank you for posting to the Sensing forum!

Are all the HDC2080s in the same location? Also, has the sensor been exposed to any of the chemicals outlined in the Silicon User Guide?

Hi,

The PCB was reworked, so we did use a PCB cleaning solution,

Can that be the cause of the issue?

Can it be corrected?

Hello,

No-clean solder paste must be used and no board wash should be performed after the sensor is assembled to the board. Any exposure to contaminants can alter the humidity readings and the sensor performance cannot be recovered.
