Hello Sir,

First of all, because I am an overseas user, this text uses a translation site.

Therefore, there may be mistranslations.

I appreciate your understanding in advance.

The other day, I recorded data with mmWave Demo Visualizer for the first time.

When playing back the recorded data, I have the following questions, so I would like you to answer them.

First, for data playback, after pressing the Plots tab on the mmWave Demo Visualizer, Press the PLAYBACK START button.

First of all, you will be prompted to select a (.cfg) file.

After specifying the CFG file, you will be prompted to select a (.dat) file.

As a playback operation procedure, select the CFG used for recording on the first screen.

Is the procedure for selecting the recorded DAT file correct on the next screen?

The purpose of this question is the other day, I was able to play it by selecting the recorded DAT file on the first screen and selecting the recorded DAT file on the next screen, so I would like to ask you about the original official playback method. It's up to you.

Also, I would like to ask separately, is there a function that can output the data (x, y, z, velocity, etc.) saved on the mmWave Demo Visualizer to a file (other than a DAT file, such as .csv)?

One last thing, is the mmWave Demo Visualizer equipped with functions such as forwarding and rewinding one frame during playback of recorded data?

Thanks for your support.
Regards,

  • Hello.

o I would like to ask you about the original official playback method.

When doing the procedure to playback the results, the first window prompts for a file with a .cfg file extension, and the second requests a file with the .dat file.  However the .dat file would be enough since it contains all the detected points and data relevant to play back on the visualizer.  However, I recommend you pass the cfg in the first prompt, and a .dat file in the second prompt just in case a cfg different from the default was used.

Also, I would like to ask separately, is there a function that can output the data (x, y, z, velocity, etc.) saved on the mmWave Demo Visualizer to a file (other than a DAT file, such as .csv)?

There is a script in the SDK_Install_Directory/packages/ti/demo/parser_scripts folder called mmw_demo_example_script.py that can extract this information from the .dat file, and you can modify this script to output it to a .csv file if you choose to.

One last thing, is the mmWave Demo Visualizer equipped with functions such as forwarding and rewinding one frame during playback of recorded data?

No.  It can only start, stop, and pause.

    Hope this helps.

    Sincerely,

    Santosh
