TDC7200: Measuring a pulselength with same signal on START and STOP

Part Number: TDC7200

Hi!

In another post it was already answered that it is possible to use the same signal for START and STOP.

My explictiite question is if it is possible to measure the duration of a square pulse (not the gap between them, as in an other post).
If the start pulse is configured with a rising edge and the stop pulse with a falling edge, it should be possible, right?

  • Hello Marius,

Thanks for posting to the sensing forum! This has not be tested in the past but from a theoretical standpoint it should work, the setup would be the inverse of what was mentioned in the other post. It would be necessary to configure the rising edge to the START and falling edge to the STOP.

Please ensure that the pulse width of the square waves does not violate the minimum requirement needed of 12ns between START and STOP pulses. I hope this helps!

    Best,

    Isaac
