AWR6843: Vital Signs Demo in mmWave Industrial ToolBox

Part Number: AWR6843

Team,
My customer who have started their evaluation using the Vital_Signs demo has everal questions about this demo as follows.

- Output Packet
Kindly explained the format of the UART Data Stream but it does not explain the field of "Vital Signs Output Stats".
Just want to know each in detal. Do you have a document which discribes this? or do you have a MatLab script to read them?

- Antenna configration
"Chirp Configuration" tells that a single TX-RX antenna pair is currently used for processing.
Let me know how to configure 3Tx-4Rx?

Could I have your comment on these Qs?

Regards,
Nonaka

  • Hi Nonaka,

Do you know why the customer has decided to start with this lab rather than vital signs with people tracking? Vital signs with people tracking is our latest lab and will feature our most robust algorithm. However, the source code is only available with NDA.

    Output packet:

    1. what information is the customer looking for here? Is there a specific vitals output they need for their project?

    Antenna configuration:

    1. The source code would need to be updated to have an algorithm that supports 3TX/4RX. Currently this lab is single TX-RX pair to enable use with a simple radar lens. However our latest lab, vital signs with people tracking, uses 3TX/4RX.

    Thanks,

    Angie

  • Hi Angie,
Thank you for your comment on this.

My customer has a MIC-NDA with us, wants to save the following parameter data from Vital Signs Output Stats to a csv file.
    (1) Average respiratory rate
    (2) Average heart rate
    (3) RRI
    (4) Phase waveform of respiration and heart rate

Regarding Antenna configuration, thank you for letting me know the vital signs with people tracking uses 3TX/4RX.

    Regards,
    Nonaka

  • Hello.

Angie is out of office and will be able to provide an answer next week.

    Sincerely,

    Santosh

  • Hello Nona,

The photo below shows the packet structure of the vital output data.

Does this cover the specific outputs you are looking for?

    Thank you,

    Angie
