Let's suppose I have enabled two different transmit antennas. I would like to transmit Chirp 1, with starting frequency F1, slope K1, and phase offset P1 using Tx Antenna 1, while simultaneously transmitting Chirp 2 with starting frequency F2, slope K2, and phase offset P2 using Tx Antenna 2. Is this possible?
The TI documentation shows the following:
So it is clear I could enable Tx1 to transmit Chirp 1 during Burst 1 and then Tx2 to transmit Chirp 2 during Burst 2. However, is it possible to do this simultaneously, i.e. to use two different transmit antennas with different chirp configurations within a single burst?
If it is possible, could you help me with the commands necessary to configure the IWR6843 to do this?
Thanks :-)
Hello Alex,
Yes and no. You can transmit from TX1 and TX2 at the same time with BPM-MIMO. See this thread for more information and links to supporting documentation: https://e2e.ti.com/support/sensors-group/sensors/f/sensors-forum/1097339/iwr6843aopevm-mimo-scheme/4065947?tisearch=e2e-sitesearch&keymatch=iwr6843%252525252525252520bpm%252525252525252520mimo#4065947
However, we can only transmit Chirp 1, with starting frequency F1, slope K1, and phase offset P1 using Tx Antenna 1, while simultaneously transmitting Chirp 1 with starting frequency F1, slope K1, and phase offset P1 using Tx Antenna 2.
Thank you,
Angie
