AWR2243: Four-chip cascade board antenna arrangement and calibration

Part Number: AWR2243

Hi team,

Here's an issue from the customer may need your help:

With the AWR2243 four-chip cascaded board (MMCAS-RF-EVMP+MMCAS-DSP-EVM), the customer wants to change the receive antenna pattern from 16 directional antennas in their antenna array to an 8-direction, 8-pitch arrangement, as shown in the figure below:

Customer has the following 3 questions:

1) After modifying the arrangement of the receive antenna with 8-way 8-pitch, is the process step for antenna calibration consistent with the original step for calibration of 16-way antenna array?

2)  Does the cascade_MIMO_antinnaCalib.m file given in the code also have the capability for pitch dimension antenna calibration?

3) If 1 and 2 above are true, which parameters need to be modified during calibration?

Could you help check this case? Thanks.

Best Regards,

Cherry
