TMP126: Does the TMP126 have the same register structure as the TMP127

Part Number: TMP126
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMP127, , TMP127-Q1

Hello Team,

as per title can you confirm the following:

  • Does the TMP126 have the same register structure as the TMP127?

From the datasheet the TMP126  has a nice Register map (session 8.6).

The TMP127 does not have it, does a 1:1 comparison without reading all the datasheet is difficult.

If the register map is the same, I may assume that the IC ID would be still be different.

Thanks,

SunSet

  • Hi SunSet,

Thanks for posting to the Sensors forum.

The TMP126 and TMP127-Q1 do not have the same register structure.

The TMP126 register structure is noted in section 8.6 Register Map of the TMP126 datasheet. The Device ID for the TMP126 is 2126h as shown in section 8.6.13 Device_ID register of the TMP126 datasheet. For more information, see section 8.5.2 Serial Bus Interface of the TMP126 datasheet.

The TMP127-Q1 features a simplified no register map protocol, as noted in section 3 Description of the TMP127-Q1 datasheet. The Device ID for the TMP127-Q1 is 900Fh and can be read when the device is in Shutdown mode, as shown in section 8.4.2 Shutdown Mode of the TMP127-Q1 datasheet. For more information, see section 8.5.2 Serial Bus Interface of the TMP127-Q1 datasheet and section 9 Application and Implementation.

For more information on the differences between the TMP126 and TMP127-Q1, please see section 8.5.2 Serial Bus Interface and section 9 Application and Implementation of each datasheet.

    Best regards,

    Jesse
