AWR2243: cpufault for 2chiprs per frame

Hi TI Experts,

I am developing and bringing-up an AWR2243 single-chip radar board.

A single chirp per frame ends without errors but two chirps per frame result in cpufault.

Could you let me know the causes and possible ways to avoid it?

Attached, please find the log files;

- "spi0.dev0.0.log.txt" for the normal ending case with a single chirp per frame

- "spi0.dev0.0.cpufault.log.txt" for the cpufault case with two chirps per frame

Hi,

The error you are receiving implies that your Frame On Time > Frame periodicity. Can you try and increase the frame periodicity to a higher value to resolve this issue.

Thanks a lot for your advice and sorry to take a long time before the reply.

Unfortunately, we could not solve the issue.

Could you look into the attached file, spi0.dev0.0.log.cpufault20221219.txt, that is result of execution configuring FRAME_PERIODICITY=20000000 (about 1sec). CPUFAULT is still occur?

Hi Nakajima-san,

The error indicates that the chirpAvailable from ADC buffer arrived before CBUFF has completed sending out the previous chirp data. To resolve this issue

1) Increase the chirp idle time

2) Increase the data rate for your data transmission.
