LM35: AH/NOPB

Part Number: LM35

Hello,

We had a bulk shipment of these pcs come with their leads bent out in an almost tripod fashion.  Is this still acceptable per the NDV 30pin TO-CAN package?  Is there a conformance spec for the pin formation?  From images I see, the leads should be straight down and these instead are spread.

Please see photos and advise.

  • Hello Austin,

The leads are not expected to be bent out like this.  As you mention in the drawing, the leads are straight down and you can also see in the image below the leads are straight.  I suppose the leads could be bent some in the bulk packaging, but these look purposely bent out.  I will see what I can find regarding a pin formation spec and let you know.

Were these parts purchased from an authorized distributor?

  • Austin,

After looking through the JEDEC TO-46 specification, there is no spec for the lead formation.  The leads you show in your picture are not bent too dramatically and it is common for the leads to bend in this manner when they are being populated on a PCB, but we do not have a specification on the angle of bend allowable.
