TMP117: temp accuracy below 0C

Part Number: TMP117

Hello,

I had a question about the temp accuracy for TMP117M. Do you have any data for us to understand what the temperature accuracy looks like below 0c? Is it like a step function where the error can be significantly off? Or it’s just not measured so you can’t guarantee a spec? We are trying to determine whether we can consider this part as viable for our application.

Hi Adam,

Typical Characteristics shown in Figure 6-2 and 6-3 apply to all variants of TMP117 including TMP117M.

If you need a guarantee of performance below 0C, you will have to purchase TMP117 (or even TMP117N.) The TMP117 specifications meet or exceed TMP117M specifications.

When you say “Typical characteristics” does that specifically mean the “Average” and “Average+3Sigma”? And what’s not guaranteed is the “Min/Max” plot essentially?

That is correct. The red line corresponding to "TMP117 Min/Max" is a representation of the Min/Max specification for TMP117 (no variant) which wouldn't apply to TMP117N or TMP117M.
