AWR2243: Can UART output log for debug purpose during AWR2243 works with external host?

Hi,

My customer would like to have AWR2243 uart output log during AWR2243 works with external host for debug purpose. I can't find related info in AWR2243 DFP ICD document.

Would you pls kindly advise if this feature is supported on AWR2243 or not?

Hi Chris,

Yes, this will be possible. Please refer to the DFP user guide and the below path in the DFP provides the required information.

C:/ti/mmwave_dfp<version>/ti/control/mmwavelink/docs/doxygen/html/index.html

In DFP user guide, the UART is used for firmware download, instead of debugging log output.

I search "UART" or "serial" in mmwave_dfp_02_02_04_00/ti/control/mmwavelink/docs/doxygen/html/index.html, but I can't find any related info.

Would you pls kindly point out the location of related info you found?

can we load FW via UART in the HD interface and disconnect the usb connection?

Hi Chris,

For UART driver information you can refer to

UART Driver (C:\ti\mmwave_sdk_03_06_00_00-LTS\packages\ti\drivers\uart\docs\doxygen\html\index.html)

For further IP details, you could refer to Chapter 27 of the Technical reference Manual. The UART IP for AWR2243 is same as AWR16xx/18xx.
