IWR6843AOP: 68xx vital sign

Hello Team,

I want to do an experiment with IWR6843AOP related to vital sign. The problem is when I at distance of 50cm it works but more than 50cm Breath and heart both shows red and zero value.

Beacuse I found in the docs that:

For Sensor in Front the EVM shuld be mounted upright while subject should sit facing in a chair about .3-.8m in front.

Q1) How I can increase it to be 5m or more?

Q2) I want to make changes to work with a barrier as well, so how I can do this?

Hi Fahad,

I would recommend evaluating our Vital Signs with People Tracking lab for this application. This lab will be able to detect vital signs up to 5m away and will track where the person is in the scene.

No, you would need to use the configuration file mentioned in the Vital Signs for People Tracking user's guide.

Hi Fahad,

When you download the toolbox in the download you will find a configuration file specific to each lab in its folder. For example here you will find it at <DOWNLOAD LOCATION>\radar_toolbox_1_00_00_26\source\ti\examples\Medical\Vital_Signs_With_People_Tracking\chirp_configs.

Hi Angie.

I found the "vital_signs_AOP_2m.cfg" but what I'm wondering:

Q1: Is this configuration file works fine when I flash the sensor with "vital_signs_demo_68xx"?

Q2: What parameters I have to change in this configuration file so it works well with just vital sign demo?

Q1: This is only a configuration for the vitals signs with people tracking firmware

Q2: This configuration cannot be used for just the vital signs demo.

I suggested switching to the vital signs with people tracking firmware because this is

1. A more advanced and improved vital signs detection algorithm

2. Is set up for vital signs detection up to 5 meters away without having to configure for a specific distance

But I cannot save the data as I did for Vital sign lab only. How I can stored the Data from it?

I want to save the vital sign data Heart Rate and Respiration rate and also localization(Point Clouds and SNR) of a subject as well. If possible by using this Lab (Vital sign with people tracking) Please it's my project and all my work depends on it.

Also show me how I can modify and what to modify in visualizer.

Hi Fahad,

This is possible with vital signs with people tracking. All this information you are looking for is output by the UART and that is what our visualizer uses as input for the GUI. The vital signs TLV is described in the vital signs with people tracking user's guide and the point could and SNR info is documented in our Understanding UART Output guide. The visualizer has a gui_parser file that parses this output.

Thank you for sharing it, but the question is again how I can save the radar data when demo is running?
