IWR1443BOOST: Materials for processing raw data

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: IWR1443BOOST, AWR1642BOOST, IWR6843AOP, IWR6843ISK

Hi,

I intended to utilize Python or Matlab to process the collected raw data for vital sign recognition. I investigated the code of the vital sign lab demo but was unable to fully comprehend the code due to the use of multiple languages. I also viewed all five FMCW radar training videos to better comprehend the concept. However, I was unable to locate any resources for processing the raw data, though.

Could you offer me any documents or videos that describe how to analyze the collected data such that Range profile, Range bin, FFT, and other calculations may be made?

  • Hi Deepu,

Which vital signs lab are you using?

    Thanks,

    Angie

  • Hi Deepu,

I would first recommend moving to our latest Vital Signs Algorithm: Vital Signs with People Tracking. As of our latest release the Vital Signs lab you are using has been deprecated and is no longer supported.

Raw ADC data can be collected and evaluated using the DCA1000 and our mmWaveStudio tool. This cannot be done at the same time as running the Vital Signs lab unless you modify the lab yourself to add an LVDS driver.

The TLV output can be parsed and evaluated on your own. The TLV output format for all labs is detail in this guide. The vitals TLV output is detailed in the User's Guide for the various vitals lab.

    Thank you,

    Angie

  • Hi Angie,

I have few question regarding the vital sign lab with people tracking demo.
    1. May I use it with Iwr1443boost or Awr1642boost?

    2. What is the maximum heart rate that demo can detect?

3.Does demo documentation provide information about how to organize data(Frame, Chirp AdcSamples) and how to create range profile, detect target range bin, etc?.

    4. I can develop the code self using the TI demo algorithm if guidance to data processing is provided. I am unable to understand data processing techniques. Vital sign lab demo(version 1.4) mention what to do to detect vital sign but does not describe how to do.

    4. How to get the source code?. It is mentioned to contact local TI device distributor to get code. I bought the devices directly from TI in the US. Then what should I do to get code?

  • Hello Deepu,

Please read our documentation in the user's guide for Vital Signs with People Tracking before posting questions. I have linked it again for you.

    1. It is only for the IWR6843ISK and IWR6843AOP boards, as the User's guide mentions.

    2. It is set up

    3. Please read the documentation provided before asking questions.

    4. This is not a question. We provide labs that show examples but expect our customers to have signal processing knowledge to improve on these examples themselves.

    5. Source code can only be provided if you have an NDA in place with texas instruments. Our algorithm for combining people tracking with vital signs is our own intellectual property that cannot be explained on this forum.

    Thank you,

    Angie
