TUSS4440: What exactly is the output?

Part Number: TUSS4440

Hey together,

i want to send waves onto a metal sheet and measure the reflections. The problem is, that i need the analog signal unmodified or just amplified. Im not sure what really is the output on the pin VOUT, do you get the full sine signal generated by the transducer or just the envelope curve? Can someone help?

  • Hello Florian,

Thanks for posting to the sensors forum!

The VOUT on the TUSS44x0 devices does not provide an unmodified echo signal from the transducer. There are a couple of amplification and filtering stages that the signal must go through before it is sent to the output. The VOUT pin provides the envelope curve.

    I hope this helps!

    Best,

    Isaac
