DCA1000EVM: Connection error

From the report PDF, my first observation is that the DCA1000 is not showing up in Device Manager, only the mmWave Sensor is showing. As shown in the DCA1000 User Guide under the FTDI installation portion, device manager should have four DevPack EVM COM ports showing up. This could be due to the switches on the DCA1000 in Picture 1.1 differing greatly from the switches shown in the ISK's EVM Standalone mode. The Lattice chip should get hot but I do not think it should be as hot as you are making it sound. It could be due to the switches putting it in a bad state that drives the temperature up.

Thank you for your response. Regarding the switches on the DCA1000EVM, are you referring to the settings at page 23 of the DCA1000EVM Data Capture Card User's Guide? The settings of the customer's DCA1000EVM is the same with the one on the user's guide.

I asked the customer to match the switches of the EVM in the Industrial Toolbox's guide for both ISK and DCA1000 and here is his response.

yes we changed the switches as shown in the picture you provided. the ports are still not showing up. 
FYI, when we use 5v 2A power cable instead of 2.5A the heat is ok. but still, the ports aren't showing. 
And I'm pretty sure FTDI drives are installed correctly.

For totality sake, do the devices show up at all in Device Manager? What I mean is that when a computer detects a new port but doesn't know how to use it, it can show up as something like Unknown Device. If four unknown devices show up then at least the computer is recognizing there is something there, and in this case you should try installing the mmWave SDK and CodeComposerStudio.

According to our customer, they did check that and it doesn't show up anywhere in the device manager. Does this mean that the boards are defective?

It is possible, but I would finally try different cables, different USB ports on the computer, and a different computer entirely to see if the four DevPack ports show up in Device Manager. Nothing detects the DCA1000 regardless of computer or cables, and noting that it would get too hot, it might be defective.

Our customer tested the boards with different cables, different USB ports and different computer with the same result. Can you please confirm if we could replace the boards?
