IWR1443BOOST: Cfg file configuration

Part Number: IWR1443BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: IWR1443, IWR6843

Hi team,

Here's an issue from the customer may need your help:

Get the point cloud, and the CFG file configuration for Doppler is shown in the figure above.

The customer would like to know are there currently available CFG files that enable IWR1443 high accuracy point cloud detection? And why does the program not work properly after modifying the CFG file?

Could you help check this case? Thanks.

Best Regards,

Cherry

  • Hello,

Is this for the level sensing application with regards to high accuracy? If so in the Radar Toolbox we have our high accuracy lab binary which has a chirp config for 14xx

What was this CFG originally for/where did it come from or where was it made. What was changed between the original and this CFG?

  • Hello Pedrhom,

    Thanks for your support.

What was this CFG originally for/where did it come from or where was it made. What was changed between the original and this CFG?

This CFG is a CFG modification in xwr14xx in mmWave_SDK_02_01_00_04, mainly in profileCfg, frameCfg, etc.

Currently, work is mainly focused on identifying three-dimensional point clouds, Doppler information, etc., similar to the initial purpose of use, probing two-dimensional point clouds.

Information such as a point cloud is primarily about identifying the human body. Customers want high accuracy to make the point cloud more detailed in drawing human contours.

If so in the Radar Toolbox we have our high accuracy lab binary which has a chirp config for 14xx

Could you help point me to the lab?

    Thanks and regards,

    Cherry

  • Hello,

The link to the High Accuracy Lab is below

    https://dev.ti.com/tirex/explore/node?a=1AslXXD__1.00.00.26&node=A__ABzyVRGwCqNkx0jXt-hPdg__radar_toolbox__1AslXXD__1.00.00.26

However the application listed above is for high accuracy range in particular. I will note that IWR1443 is no longer supported by TI as it Industrial Radar's oldest device from over six years ago at this point, but we have accurate people level accuracy with source code available for IWR6843 with 3D People Counting. It would be good to watch the video within the 3D People Counting lab to see if it meets the requirements sought after.
