MMWCAS-RF-EVM: Alternative to MMWCAS-DSP-EVM

I recently was able to MMCWAS-RF-EVM, but I realized that another evaluation board, the MMWCAS-DSP-EVM is needed to send data to a PC. However, this other evaluation board is currently not in stock for the time being. As the project I am using the evaluation board for is quite time sensitive, are there any recommended alternatives to the MMWCAS-DSP-EVM board that are readily available, or are there any other methods that can be done to directly connect the the MMWCAS-RF-EVM directly to a PC? Thanks!

    Hi Daniel,

    Unfortunately, there is no direct alternate solution for this at the moment.

    One way to achieve your use case would be to design your own custom setup that comprises of a host with CSI2-RX capabilities for 4-chip data reception. AM273x EVM can be used to capture CSI data over 2 channels and you can have your custom setup with 2 such hosts. There is a CSI data capture example for a single chip 2243 within the mmwave_mcuplus_sdk_04_03_00_01. You can use this as a reference to get started. You should be able to also write a routine to stream out the same data via ethernet. You can refer to the EVM schematics to see what kind of connections might be required.

    Please note that this is a personal suggestion (which we have not tried on our end) and would require a lot of effort from your end. Support on the same will also be limited.

    We are hoping it should be available at end of Q1 this year tentatively. But it would be subject to change and hence I cannot say for sure.
