IWRL6432BOOST: Dip switch setting conflict for selecting SPI mode and debug mode.

Part Number: IWRL6432BOOST

Hi TI expert,

Customer is using IWRL6432BOOST for blue wiring to external host processor to do some evaluation. However, it seems the SPI mode and debug mode selection on the IWRL6432BOOST EVM board is conflict on the dip switch.

Please see the above table from EVM user guide. The table shows that the switch S1.6 should be on in SPI mode. However, it must be off for S1.6 to choose debug mode. Is there any suggestion for making both debug and SPI modes existing together?

  • Jesse,

In the debug mode/mmWave studio connectivity mode SPI lines are connected to DCA1000 hardware hence S1.6 should be in SPI mode. When DCA1000 is connected with mmWave studio SPI lines are used for issuing APIs to the device.

If the DCA1000 hardware is not present SPI liens are available on J2 header and S1.6 should be in on position.

    Thanks and regards,

    CHETHAN KUMAR Y.B.
