DCA1000EVM: Point cloud data from raw data.

Part Number: DCA1000EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1843BOOST

Hi there,

I have a developed a software package to read in data to a ROS2 network from the DCA1000.

So far, I have developed ROS2 nodes with GUIs to visualise that data in Range-Doppler and Range-Azimuth heatmaps (using MIMO) in realtime.

Now I need to go one step further and visualize targert elevation but I have no idea how to add the third dimension to my processing chain.

Can you please direct me to any resources that explain how elevation estimation is done using TDM-MIMO and how a 3d point cloud is constructed from that. Preferably even any MATLAB/python code that generates point cloud data if there is any.

I am using a AWR1843BOOST Module so it does have transmit antenna vertical separation so it is capable of elevation data.

Best regards

Nicholas Bowden
