Hello,

I'm using AWR1843BOOST without DSA1000 board and want to use receive only for processing.

Only the DSS part is used.

Now I can collect data from ADC and make processing (FFT, filters, etc.).

But I can't set the RF part to receive only mode (at 76 GHz).

I tried mmwave_studio_02_01_01_00, examples from mmwave_automotive_toolbox_3_6_0 (lab0007_medium_range_radar), radar_toolbox_1_00_00_26 (studio_cli) but I always get errors (call through MSS and directly from DSS).

Is there some example that I use to initialize the RF part from DSS to receive (RX) only with a frequency of 76GHz (or other) without using MSS ?

Hi Mitek,

I am unable to understand your question completely. Can you please elaborate what you mean by "receive only mode"? And what do you mean by "only the DSS part is used"?

Hello Kaushik,

I use only DSS (C674x) processor from AWR1843.

RF subsytem only receive signal from antennas (no any TX needed).

All software with latest versions.

Hi Mitek,

You should be able to disable the Tx channels in the channel configuration.

May I know how exactly are you planning on capturing the data?

Yes i try configure via mmwave_studio (remove checkbox from Tx in Static config page) and see INVALID PARAMETERS on Log page.

Also i try send commands via CLI and also receive error message.

I try variuos examples from e2e forum for initialization profile and other RF parameters but without succsess. May be anybody use AWR1843 in continius RX only mode.

I want aquire data from ADC, processing it with DSP (FFT, Kalman, etc) and display it on LCD (via R4 processor). Other device transmitte 76GHz signal.

How do you plan to store & use the ADC data in this case?

Also, how much data do you require to be used?

Hi Kaushik,

data from ADC buffer copied to DSP memory for FFT and other processing.

I'm already make software to aquire data from ADC (with TEST_PATTERN) to DSP and processing.

But i can't aquire real data from RX-LNA-...-ADC input

Hi Mitek,

Thank you for your patience. There is no "continuous Rx only mode" readily available. One thing you can do is fire your chirps with with all the tx disabled for that particular chirp. Then you should be able to sample idle Rx channel data (no transmission fron the tx antenna) and obtain it from the ADC buffer as usual. This can be handled from the rest of your software I believe. Please give this a try and let me know how it goes.
