AWR1642BOOST: Found that 5V pin have no power

Part Number: AWR1642BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1642

Hello E2E Experts,

Good day.

I have a question regarding the AWR1642 Boost board. After connecting to power, I found the 5V pin doesn't have 5V. Actually, it didn't have any DC or AC signal.

I am using a power adapter with a DC output voltage of 5V.

I first power up and set the parameters of AWR1642 through mmWave studio, then I use the Oscilloscope to see the voltage by connecting the 5V pin and GND in J6, but only got the noise.

I can trigger AWR1642 to emit the signal as normal, but just get confused because the 5V pin doesn't output 5V DC.

Regards,

CSC

  • Hello,

The 5V supply does not get connected to the J6 connector. You can find the details in the schematics. So this is expected behavior. The J6 connector 5V pin is intended to be an input pin, incase you want to feed the 5V supply from the J6 connector.
