Hello,

I am trying to get hardware connection for DCA1000 w/ AWR2243BOOST mmWave Sensor EVM going. Able to connect microUSB and Ethernet cables to the PC interface, as shown below. The DCA1000 and the AWR EVM are powered with 5-V, 2.5-A supplies.

As per mmwave studio user guide, when the DCA1000 EVM is connected for the first time to the PC, Windows maybe not be able to recognize the device and would come up as ‘Other devices’ in device manager as shown in below Figure.

But in my case I am not able view any of the AR-DevPack-EVM ports on power up. I see only XDS110 COM’s being detected. COM port shown are XDS110 Class Application/User UART, which are part of code composer studio installation EMUPACK. Searched out other sections under device manager no where I can find these COM's being recognized.

Per quick start guide, eventually after FTDI USB Drivers installation from mmwave_studio packages, below should be viewed in ( COM & LPT ) ports within Windows Device Manager. I also tried to looki at follow what is being mentioned in mmWave_sensor_raw_data_capture_usingDCA1000_AWR2243.pdf it says below details on slide 11, but I don't see this options coming up in my case.

Question, why I am not able to detect any of the AR-DevPack-EVM com ports? After powering up DCA 1000 EVM and AWR2xxx BOOST-EVM ( Tried out few options, rebooted my laptop + performed several power cycle retry’s on EVM’s ). No luck with Devpack COM ports being recognized.

Am I missing something here? Please let me know.

Few more observations.

Tried to play around more on AWR2243 EVM to figure out what is going on with NO COM ports being advertised under device manager section. I tried to isolate the issue seems to me DCA1000 EVM is not able to publish any COM ports, basically after hooking up the Micro-USB cable and powering on board device manager should auto-refresh and identify USB cable and assign as COM port under ports (COM & LPT) or make it generally available under USB controllers, with DCA1000 EVM but not able get any identification posted on device manager, while with AWR2243 BOOST EVM when powered up with USB cable device manager auto-refresh and identified as XDS probe with designated COM port.

When AMR2243 EVM is only powered on.

While DCA1000EVM powered on.

What does it implies, is it one of the below,

Either DCA1000EVM board is not working properly or DCA board is blown off.
Or might need to tweak some jumpers/DIP setting on DCA1000EVM to identify USB cable as COM

Please can someone share some insights and giving me inputs to fix the issue.

Hello Natraj,

It could be a problem with the DCA also and also could you check the Cable you are using as well once? Even do check what is the power you are supplying to the same and whether is it within its limit.

I tired changing USB cables and power supplies same issue ( USB port not recognized with DCA 1000 ). Ensured DCA EVM is powered with 5-V, 2.5-A supply.

Any suggestion to fix the issue?

Hello Natraj,

When connecting the DCA1000EVM as standalone without the AWR2243, what is the switch configuration in DCA1000EVM.
Also could you try the steps and see if any of these can help you: (+) DCA1000EVM: XDS110 Ports are not listed in the device manager - Sensors forum - Sensors - TI E2E support forums?
