Hi,

I am designing an Ultrasonic flaw detector for metals.

Ultrasonic flaw detector uses high-frequency sound waves (ultrasound) to detect and evaluate flaws or defects in materials, such as cracks, voids, inclusions, and other irregularities.

I have procured 4/5MHz transducers for the same.

Please help me find appropriate analog front-end chips and EVMs for this application.

Thanks for reaching out to TI.

For ultrasound transmitter, we have a couple of devices to offer.

Can you please explain about the requirements:

1. What is the number of channels you are looking for?

2. What is the number of levels of pulser?

For the TX (transmit) device you can refer to the following:

TX7332: 32-channel 3-level transmitter with integrated transmit beamformer

TX7316: 16-channel 3-level or 8-channel 5-level transmitter with integrated transmit beamformer

TX7516:16-channel five-level transmitter

Similarly, on the receive side,

1. What is the number of channels you are looking for?

2. What is the input referred noise?

For RX, we have the following devices, they mainly differ in terms of number of channels, noise/power per channel, ADC resolution and integrated digital features:

The JD versions has integrated demodulator and JESD interface.

Hi Abhishek,

I am looking for single channel transmit and receive with programmable excitation from 4 to 10 MHz, up to 31 pulses.

Please suggest appropriate analog front-end chips and EVMs according to the above specifications

Hi Samidha,

We only have multiple channel devices. In terms of RX, the lowest number of channel is 8 in devices like AFE5809, AFE5808A.

In TX, the minimum number of channels is 16 in TX7516.
