Question about ADC Samples.

I have two boards, "AWR1443 BOOST" and "DCA 1000".The measurement conditions are as shown in the image below.

I have measured ADC Samples values for 256,512,1024,2047 cases.Analyzing this with "Matlab", it was possible to measure normally in the case of 256,512,1024.

However,in the case of 2047,it was possible to measure up to when ADC Samples was 1 to 1089, but after that ,data from 1090 to 2047 could not be obtained.

Please tell me how to solve it.

  • Hi Kogi,

I am unable to understand your question properly. Can you please explain the same in different wording, preferably with more details?

    Regards,

  • I am measuring mmWAVESAR. For measurement, IWR1443boost and DCA1000EVM are connected to a PC and controlled using mm WAVE Studio. The conditions were 3 GHz frequency band, 8192 frames, and 1024 ADC samples.I am getting 1024×8192 raw data by analyzing the .bin data obtained by measurement with matlab. However, when I increased the ADC samples to 2047 to increase the signal-to-noise ratio, the raw data was only up to 1089x8192. Please tell me the cause of this.

  • Hi Kogi,

Thank you for re-iterating the issue. I would like you to try the following on your end.

    • Can you configure the number of frames and chirps to 1 and see if your raw ADC data size matches the number of ADC samples?
    • Can you also confirm if for your sampling rate, if it's possible to accommodate 2048 samples within the sampling window?

    Regards,

    Kaushik

  • ・By setting the number of frames and chirps to 1, I can see that the raw ADC data size matches the number of ADC samples.
・The sampling rate was confirmed to be 19884ksps when 2048 samples can be accommodated within the sampling window.

  • Hi Kogi,

Thanks for the confirmation. It looks like there might be a problem with the configuration. For further debug, would it be possible to make changes to your capture one at a time to see where the issue is coming from? That is, increase number of chirps, set loops etc. With what change are you seeing this particular reduction in size of the ADC data?

Additionally, are you performing your entire sequence manually or using a lua script?

    Regards,

    Kaushik
