Hi, expert:

I am trying to reduce the side effect from transmitting too much power in a small space for avoiding the multipath as much as possible. To keep the desired SNR, the BPM encoding seems to be a good option.

However, it also introduces the resonance if we enable multiple TX and then results more multipath phenomenon. Is my understanding correct?

Hi Tony,

I'm not sure what resonance you're worried about here. Can you be more specific? BPM does transmit more power per transmission, but it improves SNR too. You might consider increasing your TX Backoff value if you're worried about emitting too much power.

Hi Nate,

What I am trying to do is to increase SNR without changing transmission power. I think the key point is that BPM uses two TXs and transmits double power than one TX. If so, BPM is almost equal to increase backoff value of 3 when using one TX. Does it mean BPM is not a solution for my case?

Hi Tony,

Unfortunately BPM will increase your transmit power. If you're looking to increase SNR without increasing transmit power, you may consider using a longer chirp duration with a lower sampling rate. This will decrease your noise bandwidth, improving SNR.
