IWR1843BOOST: NERR LED is constantly on. Board is drawing more current than it used to.

Hi, I've been playing around with the IWR1843BOOST as part of the DAC1000 eval kit. I noticed that the NERR LED (DS1) is glowing and also the whole kit seems to be drawing more current than it was earlier. Not sure if the radar board or the DCA1000 is drawing the excess current. Combined, they were drawing ~1A previously, now they're drawing almost 2A. The only documentation I could find just says "HW Error". Is there a list of specific errors I can look at to help troubleshoot?

Hi,

Can you please let me know what it is you are trying to do? Are you trying to run one of our example projects? Trying to collect raw ADC data with the DCA1000?

I got everything set up and I think working correctly (I was able to connect to the board over RS-232 and SPI, and get data back over ethernet). That's when I noticed the NERR light was on and it was drawing excess current. Not sure at what point during the setup this started happening. I think the DCA1000 is drawing the excess current, not the IWR1843BOOST.

Update: I checked all the power supplies on the board, they all seem ok except for AR_1V4_Synth and AR_1V4_APLL, which are both reading 0.06V.

Hi Sarah,

It seems the DCA1000EVM is drawing the current. Please refer to the errata and TRM for IWR1843BOOST and DCA1000EVM to check for the error.
