IWR6843AOPEVM: Opening COM port stalling when trying to flash demo

I'm trying to use the IWR6843AOPEVM in standalone mode to run basic demos like people counting. I've followed all the instructions to setup the hardware and software but when I get to the last step in Uniflash where I load the image, it always stalls when trying to open the COM port. See the attached image. I've checked so many times in the device manager that I'm using the right port (the ehanced port).

Hello,

This error usually indicates the device is not in "Flashing" mode. Can you confirm the switch settings are correct as per the guide located at https://dev.ti.com/tirex/explore/content/radar_toolbox_1_00_00_26/docs/hardware_guides/evm_setup_operational_modes.html#aop-evms?

The device should also be reset after changing the switch settings. Sometimes Uniflash needs to be restarted as well.

wow i swear i checked the S3 switch a million times but yeah that seemed to be the issue. i just set it to 'on' and now it seems to be working. thanks!
