BOOSTXL-PGA460: Uart data

Part Number: BOOSTXL-PGA460

Hi Team,

Good day.

I have a question about the echo data dump that is received from the UARX. the export data from the GUI have 128 values from the measurement. But when reading from UART while using the GUI-program  there is only around 110.

Here is an example for reference:

Data from text export:
250  251  255  255  244  123  23  170  219  146  36  28  57  49  18  78  83  38  40  30  35  12  11  20  44  41  24  15  19  14  21  20  30  30  10  6  5  8  45  45  40  56  38  184  215  91  255  255  202  234  115  167  255  255  243  94  32  203  203  50  19  16  16  20  20  12  9  16  18  17  18  16  15  11  9  8  10  117  150  83  36  35  36  42  35  38  50  39  23  41  34  48  44  10  12  12  16  18  20  18  11  19  20  16  12  12  13  15  15  8  8  5  10  10  4  9  8  5  11  11  8  5  13  13  5  6  7  10

Data from reading UART:
250  251  255  255  244  123  23  170  219  146  36  28  57  49  18  78  83  38  40  30  35  12  11  20  44  41  24  15  19  14  21  20  30  30  10  6  5  8  45  45  40  56  38  184  215  91  255  255  202  234  115  167  255  255  243  94  32  203  203  50  19  16  16  20  20  12  9  16  18  17  18  16  15  11  9  8  10  117  150  83  36  35  36  42  35  38  50  39  23  41  34  48  44  10  12  12  16  18  20  18  11  19  20  16  12  12  8  10  11  13  7

Should these be completely equal?

Would you kindly check?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Marvin

  • Hello Marvin,

Thanks for posting to the sensors forum! I am not sure if the logic analyzer or microcontroller the customer is using to read the UART coming from the GUI is not able to collect all the data appropriately. I connected a logic analyzer and performed a measurement using the GUI while probing the UART lines and I was able to see all 128 registers on my end. I performed two measurements just to make sure and they were both good.

The logic analyzer I have doesn't count the amount of packages but I had to go and count them manually just to make sure it was correct.

    Best,

    Isaac
