AWR1843: TX/RX crosstalk

Genius 12760 points
Part Number: AWR1843

What is the crosstalk TX to RX within the radar IC? (no DAB information can be found)
   a. Are there values/empirical values that can be reckoned with?
   b. Are there ways/design recommendations to minimize cross talk from outside the chip?

Regards,
Bernd

  • Hello,

From the chip perspective, the Rx-Rx isolation is typically better than 40dB, Tx- Rx isolation is better than 30dB and Tx-Tx isolation is better than 25dB.

The isolation on the PCB would be dependent on your antenna design. We do not have any specific recommendations other than to make sure to use the appropriate BGA to PCB transition so that the impedance is properly matched and to fanout the GCPW such that there is sufficient isolation. The design should be simulated in HFSS or another EM field solver to make sure the design meets your requirements.
