TMAG5273: Device ID is different than mentioned in datasheet

Hi Experts,

Seeking your assistance on this query from customer about TMAG5273:

We are producing a product with the TMAG5273A1QDBVR for some time now.
In production we check the following registers of the sensor to see if the sensor is the correct one:

DEVICE_ID (0x0D) = 0x01
MANUFACTURER_ID_LSB (0x0E) = 0x49
MANUFACTURER_ID_MSB (0x0F) = 0x54

If one of the registers doesn't match, the product will be rejected by the tester.

This worked well all the time but now suddenly in our newest batch the tester rejects the products.

As I was investigating the problem, I found out that the DEVICE_ID when read-out gives back 0x05 now. When I take a look in the datasheet it says that bit 7-2 are RESERVED and normally have a (reset) value of 0 but now this isn't true as bit2 is 1.

Could you tell us what the reserved bits say? And what has changed for it to become 0?

Thank you.

Regards,
Archie A.
