BOOST-LDC3114EVM: GUI Communication Failure

Part Number: BOOST-LDC3114EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LDC3114

Hello E2E Experts,

Good day.

I received a development board with an LDC3114 chip. I am not getting it going with the browser-based TI GUI. I tried all resources I could find in the manual and in the forum for diver installation and similar, but the GUI says the device is disconnected.

A more detailed description of the problem:
GUI: device disconnected although a USB connection is established
5 LEDs on the green PAMB board do not light up
5 LEDs on the read daughter board (with LDF3114) are lit up
no change in the situation under reconnecting or rebooting the ECM board

When pressing connect in the GUI, a window appears stating: Connection failure, no SCB controller detected

What I did so far:

Installing 3 driver packages
Installing TI cloud agent
Update 3 driver packages through the device manager

Any comments and help are very much appreciated.

Regards,

CSC

  • Hello,

If there are no LEDs on the PAMB, then the board is not running the firmware properly. You can try updating it via the GUI by going to file-> program device.

If this option is grayed out as shown above, you will need to try putting the board in DFU mode first. Instructions for this are in the EVM user's Guide:

Once the firmware has been updated and the PAMB restarts, two LEDs should be lit on the PAMB.

  • Hello Justin,

    Good day.

Unfortunately, I tried the steps you propose already, without success.

When I open the GUI, I see the following screen shown in picture 01 in the attachment.

Following the advice given under the link (e2e.ti.com/.../faq-how-do-i-resolve-pamb-evm-connectivity-and-or-driver-installation-issues), one would assume it is a driver issue.

I followed the description given in the FAQ blog post, but the error message remains in the GUI (when launching the GUI or when pressing the connect button).

I tried the firmware update once, without success. Now the button 'program device' remains greyed out. Since I tried this firmware update, all LEDs of the green motherboard are off, whether or not I have a cable connected to the pins PK1 and PK2.

Do you have any further advice?

    Regards,

    CSC

  • Hello,

Does the EVM show up in your device manager at all? If so, how does it appear?

Of the drivers you installed, is one of them the PAMB driver? The download link for it is: https://www.ti.com/lit/zip/sbac253
