OPT3004: VDD and I2C Separate Supply

Part Number: OPT3004

Hi Team,

Wanted to confirm there are no issues with sequencing or voltage difference with VDD and I2C/INT pullup voltage. VDD will receive 1.8V or 3.3V (TBD) and will be duty cycled or shutdown to minimize power consumption. I2C/INT pullup is always on 3.3V and comes from a separate source so there are scenarios where a pullup voltage exists but the VDD receives 0V.

Please confirm there are no potential issues with the above implementation.

Thank you,

Trent

  • Hi Trenton,

I have tested the device over this range with a constant 3.3V to the I2C/INT and have had no issues. However after setting VDD to 0V and back to 1.8 or 3.3, the device will need to be reinitialized (rewrite the config registers, threshold registers if applicable).

    Thank you,

    Brent Elliott
