Hi,

I am working with a IWR6843AOPEVM Revision G for a people counting application, and it works with UARTs over USB and I can visualize the data. I was trying to get the same data over UART pins in the 60-pin HD connector. I set the switch configuration based on the EVM user guide. The problem is the pinout of 60-pin connector on the EVM user guide shows only one pair of pins (RS232 TX/RX) as serial communication pins. I wanted to ask how can I get access to both the Data UART and Control UART using the 60-pin connector?

You can access the UART pins through the 60pin connector. The 60 pin connector is intended to be used with the mmWaveICBOOST, which has a launchpad style connection interface. You can access the UART here. For specific pins, please see the schematic and design files on the ICBOOST and 6843AOP product pages, linked below. For the output data only, you are interested in 'MSS_LOGGER'. Do note, there are some muxes that you will need to consider. Again, this is a UART port. SPI would be handled similarly, however the industrial toolbox demos don't handle this by default. You would need to re-write the demo for SPI.

If you do not have an ICBOOST, then you will need to build a board or breakout from the 60 pin connector. Again, please review the schematics for more details.
