IWR6843AOP: Requirement on component placement around IWR6843AOP

Hi,

My customer is working on IWR6843AOP design. They want to know if there is any requirement on component placement around IWR6843AOP. What's the nearest distance which can place the component around IWR6843AOP? Is there any height requirement for the component?

I already informed customer about below errata.

Hi Chris,

The minimum horizontal clearance is 1mil and minimum vertical clearance is 10 mil. Kindly refer to design rules in Altium sources files for IWR6843AOP EVM design for component clearance.

I may not describe the question clearly. What customer wants to know is the layout guideline/requirement for placing components, such as capacities, resistors, other IC, around AOP device.

Would you pls check again?

Hi Chris,

The components must not be placed at a height above the antenna. Also, it must be taken care that the antenna radiations are not being affected by the components placed i.e the component size must not interfere with the field of view of the antenna, I am attaching a reference picture for antenna FOV wrt to radome design but the understanding will be the same in this case.

For other requirements regarding the component placement around the IWR6843AOP you can refer to the IWR6843AOP EVM design guidelines.
