Hello,

I'm trying to read the raw data from the IWR6843 through the serial port. The objective is to create some demos using the raw data (So, without using the DCA1000EVM).

I have been attempting to capture the data, but I haven't been successful. Do you have any scripts to accomplish this or could you provide information on how the data is encoded?

Hello,

You cannot get raw data through the serial port as it is too low of a bandwidth to stream raw data. That is why the DCA1000 is required with its Ethernet port. At most you can get a single frame of ADC data with a simple chirp. For the format of the raw data output, you can find it at the bottom of the DCA1000 User Guide in the Radar Toolbox.

And how can I obtain the data that comes directly from the radar (post-processed by the radar, not the raw data)?

I have been trying to read the serial ports, but I don't know how to decode the data. Additionally, I attempted to read the Demo Visualizer .dat file, but I encountered the same problem. My goal is to replicate the functionality of the demo while saving all the data in MATLAB for analysis.

Are there any scripts available to help with this task?

Hello,

The output of the sensor via serial is formatting using TLVs, for details on the format of these TLVs you can see them here: https://dev.ti.com/tirex/explore/node?a=1AslXXD__1.10.00.13&node=A__ADnbI7zK9bSRgZqeAxprvQ__radar_toolbox__1AslXXD__1.10.00.13

You can simply save all data that comes in from the DATA port and save it to process post recording.
