DRV401: Recommended magnetic probes

Part Number: DRV401

Dear Specialists,

My customer is considering DRV401 and has a question.

I would be grateful if you could advise.

---

The DRV401 requires an external magnetic probe.

Could you please let us know regarding the commercially available magnetic probes (coils, probes, single module products, etc.)

that TI recommends or that have been used for developing and reference design.

---

I appreciate your great help and cooperation.

Best regards,

Shinichi

  • Hello Shinichi,

This is normally designed by the customer.  The probe will have mechanical restriction normally determined by the end user.  This will include placement in the compensation core to measure the field.  The specifications of the Probe Coil Loop section of the datasheet and the "Magnetic Probe (Sensor) Interface" section of the datasheet describes the requirements to design the probe.

I can be of some assistance but without the design resources for the magnetics this would be a challenge to design.

  • Hi Javier,

    Thank you for your reply.

The customer inquired because they wanted to use it as a reference for their design.

I understand that probes have to be designed individually.

When the customer has started designing the probe and has any questions, we will contact separately.

I appreciate your great help and cooperation.

    Best regards,

    Shinichi
