Hello,
I am designing an 8-layer PCB using the LDC1614 to measure how far buttons are pressed sitting on top of the PCB. I have 64 inductive coils multiplexed into the LDC1614. The buttons are illuminated with LEDs. Due to this, noise is quite a concern, and I have, among others, added ground layers between every signal layer to remedy this. I am placing the analog components on the top layer and the digital ones on the bottom layer to get vertical isolation. I am also not routing any tracks below the coils. The sensors are on the top four layers of the PCB.
Is it a good idea to have a ground plane on the layers below the sensors? Or should I add cutouts around them instead? I am worried that the tracks for the LED would interfere with the sensors if the ground planes are not there to shield them.
Thanks for the help!
