IWRL6432: How to adjust the frame rate of IWRL6432?

Hi experts.

We are developing out project based on the example code of presence_motion_detect.

And the config parameter which satisfied our test scene is generated by adjusting parameter by the mmWave Sensing Estimator page linked as following:

then we got 50 Frame Periodicity while set Measurement Rate to 20.

Rate 20Hz

However set Frame Periodicity to 50 seems not works at all.

By referring to the similar issue as following link:

The valid range of FramePeriodicity is shown between 100 to 4294967295 that means maximum frame rate is restricted to 10 Hz in IWRL6432.

We are curious about that is FramePeriodicity the only one parameter can change frame rate?

If not so, is there any other method to adjust frame rate?

Hi,

FramePeriodicity should be the only parameter that affects the frame rate. I would recommend using the "Advanced" tab of the Sensing Estimator to get a better idea of all the parameters you can change and how they are affect other parameters.

Nevertheless, the post as following link shows that it's possible to set FramePeriodicity to 50(ms) to reach frame rate at 20(Hz) in IWR6843ISK.

Is this means we can not apply frame rate parameter which works in the configuration of IWR6843ISK to IWRL6432?

Hi,

I will have to check with our SDK team for a specific answer. It might be possible to set the frame periodicity to 50ms. Did you already try and run the device with a frame periodicity of 50ms? Have you tried other values such as 75 to see if those work?

Hi,
We have tried to set frame periodicity to 50ms and the whole process seems to works normally, but we found that the output value from radarCube is always 0 no matter it is real or image. So we are curious that if there is way to set frame periodicity to 50ms and generate radarCube data correctly, thanks.

Hi,

The documentation is correct and the minimum value is 100ms.
